So you got a new puppy, and you ask yourself “does my puppy need training?” The answer is YES. Don’t think twice about it and get that puppy into our puppy obedience school. You might think that perhaps you can train your dog, or that your dog is not so bad and does not need the training. Trust us, you want to train your puppy right away, and you want it to be done by a professional who knows what they’re doing.
Life gets busy, and you might get too busy to train your puppy, and with time your dog will develop habits that can become hard to break. If you are still not too convinced that your puppy might need training, think about these following points:
- It is easier to train a puppy. That is why we can start training as early as eight weeks old. A young pup will not have the time to develop the bad habits that older untrained dogs have. We would be starting with a clean slate.
- It will save you money in the long run. You might think that you are saving money by not getting your puppy professionally trained, but you aren’t. Think of all the chewed shoes and furniture that you will have if your dog is not trained.
- You will experience a closer bond from early on. It is easier to travel, go out for walks, or visit friends and family with a trained dog. You won’t have to leave your dog home alone or go through embarrassing or bitter moments.
- You will save it from ending up in a shelter. A LOT of dogs end up in shelters because they misbehave. It is cute when a puppy does it, but after they hit adulthood, people don’t seem to find it as cute anymore. If your puppy is trained, you won’t have to say goodbye.
While we train dogs of all ages, we encourage dog owners to begin training as soon as possible. If you are curious about our puppy obedience school, give Wag Ur Tail Dog Training a call at (540) 834-8353. We serve dog owners in the Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, and Stafford areas.
